Foot pain and fashion crimes

I have severe foot pain, and I have gone to the trouble of purchasing orthodics and expensive shoes, however as a 30 year old woman I am "put off" by the serious lack of appealing foot wear for people with foot conditions such as RA.

Suggestions would be helpful.

Amen to that. Not only do you feel like you're 94 when you wake up, but why must they make us wear "old lady shoes", as well (which I know is unfair, because many of the "old ladies" I know wear very snazzy shoes)? Finding footwear that appeals both to comfort and fashion sense can be difficult, especially if you previously liked high heels and pointy shoes. It's a little easier if you're more of the hippie persuasion and are used to Birkenstocks and the like. Smile

Don't despair, though - there are places out there that have very comfy shoes that also look good. The Canadian company Walking on a Cloud is one of my favourite places. They have a huge selection of brands that are dedicated to making your feet feel good and range in design from hippie to "old lady shoes" and right into fashionable footwear. Some of my favourite brands are Clark's, Ecco and Easy Spirit. Their website is here - I've just checked with them and they do ship to the US and have a very reasonable return policy. If you don't want to buy shoes over the Internet, you can look through their site for brands you like and hopefully find them where you live.

Hi, I can so relate to you, one of my main aims in life is to find a perfect pair of high shoes, that i can walk in, I have very bad feet, but would love to wear heels when i'm going on a night out or working. i spend a lot of time in nike shox trainers which are brilliant, i'v also recently bought a couple of pairs of sole reviver shoes from next, which were very good. i wish you luck
