i have found great relief and lowered my RA blood test scores with changes in diet.  i quit drinking alcohol gave up red meat, pork, sweets and tried to eat fresh fruits and vegetables with fish and chicken.  lots of water, no sodas.  i get reflexology treatments on my feet regularly.  right now i am in remission.  in 3 months my RA blood test results dropped from 443 to 31 just from thesechanges.  i am so grateful as i chose not to have drug therapies and most days i am not in pain.  heat helps as does cold when i hurt.  i try to stay active. i tried to eliminate coffee as well but i still drink a cup or two in the morning.  hot green tea is good also.  tumeric, garlic, ginger added to vegetables help to reduce inflamation.  read  books on food as medicine to help flare ups.  keep track of what you eat and how it affects you.   this has helped me tremendously.  i use biofreeze when the pain really acts up.  good luck
