I am considering asking my rheumatologist for an RX for Piroxicam.  I had used it in the past for inflammation due to carpal tunnel and it helped.  Every oral med that has been prescribed I've had some sort of reaction to and the Humira injections caused terrible reactions at the injection site 4 weeks after each injection.  The doctor took me off when he saw the reactions and is trying to get approval for another injection.  I do not want to end up at the emergency room again because of drug reactions so am thinking that if Piroxicam helped with the inflammation of carpal tunnel, maybe it would with the RA.  Are there any studies on this?  (I just have one of those weird systems that is very sensitve to prescribed drugs)  As a side note, I did contact Abbott Laboratories about the reaction and they felt it was a reaction to the chemicals in Humira.

I checked out Piroxicam and it appears that one of the uses of the drug is for RA. I suggest you talk to your rheumatologist about this as soon as possible so you can get some relief. Good luck!

Thank you. I will discuss this with him.  If that can control the inflammation, then I will be able to reduce the Tylenol intake.
