unfortunately, that's impossible for me to say. First, I am not a doctor, but someone who has lived with RA for many years and answer questions based on my personal experience and research I've done as part of my job working for RAHealthCentral. Secondly, a diagnosis is can only be made based on a physical exam and medical history.
There are over 100 different kinds of arthritis and one of the most common forms of arthritis is osteoarthritis, also known as wear and tear arthritis. This often develops as we grow older or after an injury. RA is a chronic autoimmune disease that tends to most affect women of childbearing age. They (and the many other types of arthritis) have certain things in common — e.g., joint pain — but are very different in terms of prognosis, treatment, etc. The best thing for you would be to make an appointment to see your family doctor for an initial examination and possibly a referral to a rheumatologist in your area so you can get a diagnosis and possible treatment.
Good luck!
Tammie,
Let me echo what Lene has said and suggest that you meet with your primary care doctor to get the ball rolling on finding an accurate diagnosis. There are so many (over 100) types arthritis, and even more diseases and conditions which might cause pain in/around the joints. There's the chance that the pain might not be coming from the joint. It is impossible to get a diagnosis online and we are not medical professionals, but patients who share our experiences and information we learn about RA.
I hope that you are able to find out what is causing this pain and find a treatment to lessen that pain and/or eliminate the cause. Good luck.
Lisa
