Q: Appetite suppressants while taking RA medications

Now that I have gotten my RA under control, I would like to try to lose a few pounds that I gained while taking steriods. Had anyone ever taking any kind of appetite suppressants while taking RA medications? I would also like to know if there is another antidepressant I could try besides Cymbalta? My co-pay if $60 a month, does anyone know of something genereic that would be just as effective? thanks

I know there are other anti-depressants. Ask your doc to give you a list of what she/he recommends that's on your plan. Then, I'd ask about side effects for those. Some of them also make you gain weight, so you should check. A pharmacist is a great source. Sometimes, I ask several pharmacists.

Please don't take the appetite suppressants without talking to your docs and discussing drug interactions. I wouldn't do it, but you should at least do it with supervision.

Good luck.
