Q: I am looking for a support group in the Jackson, MS area. I

I am looking for a support group around the Jackson, MS area. I was diagnosed a year ago and am still having a hard time dealing with it. This site has been such a comfort for me, and I would love to meet some people in my area that might be going through the same thing.

Check out Arthritis Introspective - it's a grassroots organization that helps you start support groups, as well as maintaining a list of support groups all over the US.

I can also highly recommend a book called The First Year with Rheumatoid Arthritis.  It's a wonderful book dealing with all aspects of the disease and finding a way of living well with it.  The link will take you to a review of the book and an interview with the author.

I know a couple of folks from Facebook who live near there. Maybe this will help. This is the Facebook page link. You can post there: anybody near Jackson? And someone will probably respond.

Good luck.

Hi, I live in Bogalusa, Louisiana........Countrygirl, I see you live between Hattiesburg and Laurel, I have a house in Richton, Mississippi....Are you close to there?

I was diagnosed Sept. 2009, and would love to be able to communicate with others in my area also. I still have a hard time dealing with this mess. I have been on Enbrel for about 4 weeks now, along with methotrexate for about 2months. I am still in a lot of pain, from the RA and mostly from fibromyalgia. I am starting to have heart and kidney problems also. It has been very challenging to handle all of this.

I wish everyone low pain tonight and sleep well, if possible......Thank God for Ambien!!
