Q: my left leg hurts when i lay down

i have been have pain in outside of left leg ( around 3 inches above knee and about 3 inches below the knee) and also beside the knee, this all is actually to left of the knee cap.  Also I cannot lay w/leg folded up or bent.

Also I canot lay on my back t go to sleep, I'm sure that I do after being asleep for a while. But I cannot rest on my back when trying to go to sleep.  (I'm talking about being one miserable soul).  In order for me to go to sleep I MUST lay on my stomach.  What could be my problem?

In 94 I had 2 surgeries and I had to lay on my back for around 2-3 months.  I would lay in  the bed and cry because I needed to turn over on stomach but I could not because of the surgery I'd had.  What could possibly be my problem??????

Thanks in Advance!!!!

RA is probably affecting either your knee or you hips. The hips being my idea of what your problem is. See your doctor.
