Q: Is there a best time of day to take Enbrel - I have just received the sure click injections?

Does it make a difference if it is administered in the evening or morning as far as side effects go?  (Diagnosis RA, currently on Methotrexate injections, prednisone, folic acid, vitamin D, and omega 3) - sleep is restless to start with, take 1 tylenol pm at bedtime.

How do you react to the Enbrel shot in terms of side effects and how quickly varies with the person. Although there's often a bit of fatigue effects in a day or so following the shot, it may come fairly quickly or not until the next day and it's quite likely that it won't interfere in your ability to get on with your day. As you get to know Enbrel, you will get to know how your body reacts and you can adjust the injection schedule accordingly. Good luck! It's a great medication.

I've been on enbrel twice a week for over a year now and take at all time during the day.  I've had no side effects from it at all though, but I don't think that it matters it should not keep you up at night if you take it late in the day.  However, the prednisone will keep you and the vitaminD will give you more energy so those should be taken first thing in the morning.

When I first started Enbrel, I thought it made a difference what time I took it. I tried to take it around 6pm. I think now it was the stress of taking the shot that made me so tired. I used to sit there shaking for an hour holding that thing in my hand knowing how bad it hurt. I have kind of found a few things that make the burning less (just a little bit, lol).

Now I take it whenever. Doesn't really make a diff to me anymore.
