Q: Ball of foot pain

Is there any help for painful "ball of foot" pain other than custom orthotics?  The "orthopedic" shoes that are available cannot be worn with a dress.  They are all clunkers.

Oh I feel your pain on this one! I used to walk with a limp because the ball of my left foot would move and crack and it was oh so painful! I found that wearing flip flops helps, sneakers or shoes with tops to them make it worse. I actually wear flip flops year round just because it's worth it to have chilly toes and be able to walk! But the pain is completely gone since I started Prednisone. Are you on any meds to help control your pain? Someone mentioned the inserts. I've seen new ones in WalMart that are for women and open toe shoes and sandles. I think the package was pink? Good luck!

I found some shoe inserts by Dr Scholls that say on the pkg that they help back pain, knee pain and they were only $8.00. But they would be hard to put in most open type dress shoes and heels.  they helped me alot while I was still working.
