Hi Shawn,

I have used many forms of pain relief.  Having been on Oxycontin for over 5 years, I found this wasn't successful enough and I was not happy with all the 'narcotic' warnings...so my Dr has put me on Cesamet and it is amazing!  I have much more energy and I am so relaxed!  I hadn't laughed out loud or shown any enjoyment in a long time but now I laugh out loud!

Yes this is a form of medical marijuana but I will try anything once...this so far is doing well...I have stopped using my Instant Relief Oxycontin and after my next appointment we will be starting to reduce my 60mgs (daily)of Oxycontin SR(slow release)by 20mgs each time and I am looking foward to being Oxy free by the fall...

Many area's of my life have improved thanks to Cesamet...I only expect things to get better.

The best ones would be the ones that are the most effective at the lowest dosage and with the least side effects.  What specifically that will be will be entirely different from person to person and will still vary from time to time.  RA can be extrememly frustrating, I think sometimes particularly so for people like me.  I like things logical, neat and tidy.  If something, anything, is wrong I want the path and series of steps to fix it.  I could never EVER be a Rheumatologist because there is no ONE path, ONE treatment OR ONE right pain med.  It's all very loosie goosie.  Thats just the nature of the beast.

Check with your Doc about the best meds for you, being as open and honest as you can about your symptoms, tolerances and even your personal values.  And be open to having this conversation again and again and again.....cuz this will be the ONLY way I can think of for you to find your own answer.
