Hi.
I have RA for almost 2 years. I use tylenol or an anti-inflammatory on occasion.
I am not taking any other meds for my RA. I have it in most of my joints. I do eat a very limited diet. Vegies and fish. And try to drink a lot of water. I do eat fruit.
I recently met someone who cured her RA using lecithin and i take 1-2 teaspoons of granulated organic soy lecithin in my salad each day.
I cannot eat wheat, potato, most nuts, bananas, tomato, tofu, soy sauce, rice. And chocolate is also on my "hit list". They all cause flares. You eat the food and it's fine. You eat it a second time and the antibodies the body made the first time you ate it cause a flare. That food now goes on the hit list. It comes under the subject of leaky gut and explains why foods are troublesome.
Have your mom do an elimination diet or as I did just go to a very simple organic raw foods diet with fish.
Look at

There are lots of supplements for RA but I actually got the most benefit from eating simple organic foods. I found that most supplements worked for a day or two and then didn't. I surmised that my immune system was out of control. So things calmed down when I cut out offending foods.
Magnesium Aspertate with or without potasium aspertate capsules helped with pain in my muscles. 1-2 capsules. gave relief within minutes
I used EFT to heal myself of the fatigue associated with the RA.
Make fresh veg juices
add Whole Leaf Aloe Vera juice, Green barley powder, Arthrid to the juice.
and NO microwaved food! not even water!
I still have pain in my joints but it is far better than it was a year ago. I believe I can get it to go completely into remission.

I have more suggestions if you need them.
