Q: Bloody noses after starting Methotrexate. Is this normal?

My husband began Methotrexate for RA 3 weeks ago. He has been having bloody noses off and on. He had an especially bad one today. Has anyone else experienced this?

No this is NOT normal.

Ring your Rheumatologists secretary and get her to tell him to ring you urgently.

You pay these people enough money to give your a phone call.

Nose bleeds are serious and you could pass out if not stopped or before it is stopped.

Hi RMS519.

I am starting Methotrexate tonight and on the form that comes with the medication it states nose bleeds as a side effect.

I also double checked it online as well. It might be smart to give your doctor a call if the nosebleeds persist.
