When I questioned the endocrinologist she said, "A few extra antibodies never hurt anyone." But in spite of her reassurance I am worried.

My Antibodies test came back at just over 1,100 on my first time tested.. on my second test result it came back at 10,000 which was explained that they do not even bother counting after that number....
my perspective is...
along with the first test my TSH was at 37, FT3 was low.. just around the bottom of normal and my FT4 was similar.
I also had my Testosterone levels checked and they were 10 above the bottom of normal ( sorry but i am feeling to lazy to get up and get the actual numbers ) and my cortisol was also on the quite low side...
My second test results showed my TSH at 2.3 (in only 2 months) FT4 at 20.9 ( a little above normal) and FT3 at 4.9 around the middle of normal.. FT3 is the number you want to be normal as i understand it is the active form of the hormone. FT3 happens when the FT4 drops and Iodine molecule so it can be used.
good news in all that area but my Antibidies came back at 10,000 !!!!
I have not done any research into what this means but my own thoughts are that my imune system is getting stronger so it is attacking harder... ( simple view)
My understanding in my researsh is that the trick is to get your TSH below or around 1 then the bodies imune system will quit attacking it. I feel i am on the right path, my sleep quality is improving.
I am a 48 yr old male whe was first diagnosed with hight TSH (27) 15 yrs ago but the implications of this were never explained to me and i was left un treated for the past 15 yrs. i have been on Synthroid for almost 3 months now andi am surprised to see my values change so drastically in such a short time.
If you want some advice ... no caffein... tea, green tea coffee etc. i really notice a backwards trend if i indulge for a while and then quit, and i do LOVE my coffee/Tea but even though i limit myself to one cup a day it still has a negative effect on my well being.. Good quality food is a must. my Natural Path sugested soup and stews for a week to see how it would work for me.. it worked great, it improved my digestion considerably and i still do this at least 3 days a week because of how much better it makes me feel.
BTW my doc said same sort of thing about the antibodies....
good luck and do not sweat it, i would also sugest you get coppies of your labs and watch carefully and do some reading asoften doctors seem to miss things.
my labs have been sent to the wrong doctor, other important markers were missed untill i asked the question, EG left untreated at a TSH of over 27 for 15 yrs and 3 GP's finally i did my own research and had to go to the walk in clinc and ask for sybthroid and to see an endo when my TSH was at 37.
you need to look after your self and use the doctor as your instrument, your instrument will do nothing usually unless you ask it to...
