Is blood type connected with hereditary RA?
Is there any blood type or Rh factor (positive/negative Rhesus) that is associated with hereditary RA?
To be honest, I've no idea. I've never seen any research about this, but I'm not a doctor, so I'm not very well versed in the different forms of RA research. I know there can be a genetic basis for RA, but common sense would seem to indicate that if there was an obvious link like blood type or Rh factor, it would be more known.
Of course, common sense doesn't always apply to anything...

ONe would think - I figured it wouldn't be diagnostic but just wondered if one type was more prone for any reason. Actually another member brought it up, and I said, well, let's ask? Turns out she also submitted the question - with a bit different terminology. I had never heard of blood type D which I guess is Australian version of Rh (rhesus) factor (not rheumatoid factor).
