Hi, BZ,

I see no one has answered your question yet. You might want to post a Sharepost, as sometimes those get more responses.

I have never taken a biologic like Humira.  You can go to the top right of the page where it says SEARCH, type in Humira, and hit the search button.  That will bring up many, many posts re: Humira.  Some of them discuss side effects.

I have never taken Prozac either, but I do take Lexapro, and it has helped me a lot. I have not experienced any side effects from Lexapro.

It often takes a while for the docs to find the right combination of meds for people with chronic illnesses.  We are all different and we all react differently to medication.  Hang in there.

Peace,

V

Sorry I'm late to this - I was on vacation in the holidays got in the way.

Humira is a terrific medication that can really kick butt both in terms of RA and Crohn's - I know someone who has twice been in a terrific Crohn's flare, closer dying and both times, Biologics saved her life. Personally, I believe that Biologics saved mine, as well and that I have owe everything in my life to these medications. They've enabled me to get better and to create a life. I hope Humira will work as well for you.

I've been on Humira for four years and before that, I was on Enbrel for two years. Common side effects of the Biologics include sinus problems, some gastrointestinal queasiness for a day or two after your shot and you may get more gassy. As well, there is a higher risk of infection. Although there are potentially serious side effects, they are rare and most people manage very well. Check out my post on managing side effects for more information and tips to keep things down to a dull roar.

good luck! Please keep us posted on your progress?

I have the same problems. I've tried cimzia, remicade, and humara. I put off using these drugs for 12 yrs. They helped for awhile. Changing life style and diet really helps.
