It's impossible to say - the people who answer questions on the site are not doctors and we can only guess based on our personal experience. However, RA can cause inflammation in tendons and ligaments, as well as joints and inflammation in joints may cause tenderness and muscles and tendons. The "uneasiness" in your fingers could be the morning stiffness typical of RA but the best person to speak to for you is a rheumatologist. To prepare for an appointment, you may find helpful information in our section about the basics of RA. Good luck!

Hi Syed,

Testing positive for Anti-CCP is 95% specific for RA.

My ESR was only slightly elevated the first time - 28. And I had been having tendonitis in several places off and on for a couple years.   But just a couple months later my wrist swelled up major, and I was tested again - it had doubled, and i already had wrist damage.  Then I got tested for Anti-CCP by the rheumatologist and a lot of other stuff and was positive for RF and Anti-CCP.

So - it can happen very fast.  Keep after the doctor, let him know exactly what is happening with you, so he will be on the ball (hopefully).  Good luck!

Ellen
