I seem to have  th symptoms of rheumatoid symptoms , but the doc said the test came back negative. . The ANA screen was negative but the sedimentation rate is 25 ,which the report says is high.  and the RF, quant is 7. My doc is very vague in explanations. I have pain in my fingers, like a numbing, it seems to last for hours at a time. somedays i have nothing. i am also anemic, but ive been on iron and folic acid, and feeling a little better. But im getting tired again since this pain. I have it mostlly in my left hand, but im slightly achy all over. My dr still prescribed Mobic to me. Is nt that for arthritus.? If my test does not show it , why would he prescribe it to me. My glucose is 68 when the normal is 70 and above , if that helps in any way.

I have severe Rheumatoid Arthritis.

A higher RDW can be indicative of many different things such as a B12 or a folic acid deficiency.  Your RF is in the normal range.  Your sed rate is a little high which basically means that you have a higher amount of inflammation in your body.  Now it is possible to have Rheumatoid Arthritis without a high rheumatoid factor.  Now Mobic is a medication typically used to treat pain and/or inflammation caused by arthritis.  Your doctor may just think that you have arthritis instead of RA.  My advice to you is that if you feel that this may be an incorrect diagnosis you owe it to yourself to get a second opinion.  Some doctors will not diagnosis RA without a high RF.  Good luck and best wishes!
