Q: best diet for RA

I am waiting for a rheumatology apptmnt and have sore knees, a stiff back and walk at a snails pace. I have been like this for about 7 weeks . Somedays are worse than others. I woke up one morning and thought I'd pulled a muscle in my leg. A few days later the other leg became painful too. Now my lower back feels like a board.I've been off work for 4 weeks and am very fed up. I also had a bout of a stomach virus which lasted for about two months, earlier this year and wonder if they could be connected. My stomach is still not completely better.

Has anyone got any suggestions about what i can do to help myself while waiting for the appointment. Diet? Exercise ? Any suggestions welcome. Thanks. Judith

I would wait until after you see your doctor to do any exercise. You don't want to make the inflamation worse. My doctor said my normal chasing my grandson and feeding the farm animals was plenty for me. He wants me to rest.  Is your appointment soon?

Basic healthy diet I think is best. Some people look for diets that reduce inflamation or allegies. I think more about long term goals of proper weight and a heart healthy diet. Sudden death and early death is a concern of mine with RA.
