prescriptions can be refilled. She doesn't think it is a problem, but I am concerned.

This is a tricky one.  Is she over-medicating with RA medications or pain pills that she takes for RA.  It is so important that you talk with her concerning this as soon as possible.  It may be that the doctor has been uping her dosage in the middle of a prescription which would lead to her running out sooner.  But if this is not the case she needs to seek help immediately!  Taking more of any medication than prescribed can be very dangerous!  Especially if she is taking too many pain pills which unfortunately could be addictive to.  I can not stress the importance of you speaking to her about this and immediately!  I know it can be scary to confront a loved one, especially one that is in pain, but a simple talk could save her life.  If she will not talk to you in regards to this, contact her doctor.  He may not be able to release any medical information to you, but he needs to know if she is taking too much of a prescribed medication.  Good luck and best wishes!

I am too have RA since I was 32 yrs old. I am now 48. I see your concen regarding your wife running out of her meds early. I would call her dr. & explain your concerns. She is obviously taking too much medication. Her dr. will keep your call confidential & will appreciate you alerting him of this. As for her always sleeping, when I was first diagnosed, that is all I wanted to do. RA takes a toll on the immune system.  It makes you very tired. After I was regulated properly on my meds, I started to feel somewhat better and forced myself to get out of bed & get dressed in the morning. There is nothing wrong with giving in and taking a nap in the afternoon if your body is calling for it, but it is important to get up and get moving. The best thing for RA is to keep moving.  I still do here and there lay down in the afternoon. If I get tired I give into it because if I don't, I will just end up hurting more. Try speaking to her dr. & go with your wife to her next appt. Good luck to you both & God Bless. It will get better.
