My feet hurt the most but is becoming more controlled with methotrexate.  I do get achy in my hands occassionally.  More so with my period.  I show no joint destruction on xrays and have had RA for at least 7 months.  Does a high CCP always mean more serious disease and how high can this test result be?  Can the DMARDS help with slowing or stopping joint destruction in these cases as well?  What have some of your levels been and how are you feeling?

I belive your CCP test to be high, but your rheumatoid factor is in the normal range.  Now please keep in mind that these tests mean different things for different people.  I would suggest you ask your doctor about it.  Even a quick call to the office to speak with his nurse should get this cleard up for you.  Also different doctors determine the severity of RA differently.  I hope this helps.  Good luck and best wishes!

Just FYI, you can click this link to find detailed information about the various test often used to diagnose rheumatoid arthritis.

And DMARDs can help slow the progression of the disease. Studies have shown that the slowest disease progression rates were observed in patients who were given the most effective DMARDs immediately upon diagnosis.
