I have been having wierd feelings in my chest lately and I was starting to get concerned that I may be having another problem to worry about. It has not been a pain just a tight feeling that almost feels like butterflies are in it. and my chest feels extremely heavy. Has anyone else had this feeling? I have had 2 appt. this past week but have had to cancel both to run kids to the emergency room. Now I have to look for a new doctor because they do not want to schedule me again for at least 30 days. Any input would be great.

My heart hearth is my major concern with having RA. I have heart disease in my family. My father had his first heart attact at 32 years old. He died at 52. I have high blood pressure, high coleslestol, borderline diabetes, and obesity. All of my joints are effected.

Hello :()  I have had RA for 13 years and about 4 years ago had an episode where my heart started beating very fast and not in its right rhythm.  They shocked it back into rhythm at the hospital and everything was fine for awhile.  Then it started happening again.  and again.  My chest also feels tight...my heart beats really fast or misses beats, like a fluttering.  I am on medication (they say my electrical systems are haywire but don't know why) but it still happens.  I would definately go to the dr when you are able, just to make sure.  I feel like there has to be some correlation, but all drs say no.  What is funny is it gets really bad around my period, and so does my RA...hmmm...but I'm not a dr :)  It always freaks you out when you think your heart isn't doing what its supposed to!  Good luck with the Dr and hope your kids are ok???
