Hi Kimberly:

Have you been diagnosed with RA?  You didnt say so if not see your primary care doc for blood test for RA factor, and along with the symptoms you describe he may be able to determine the problem.

I am wondering why the ortho surgeon treated you when you said his xrays found nothing, what was he treating you for? (Diagnosis?) My very first symptoms of RA were pain in the bottoms of my feet. Have a serous chat with your doctor and learn all you can once you receive a diagnosis...it's imperative that we be our own best advocates. Godspeed, MaddieMaire

Kimberly,

Sorry to hear that you are in such terrible pain.  It sounds like nerve pain.  If you feel pain then there is a reason for that pain.  Just because it doesn't show up on an x-ray does not mean it is any less real.  I suggest going to a doctor who can give you a cortico-steroid shot in order to reduce your pain.  Also temporarily to give you some pain medicine so you are not in such pain.  Unfortunately the way our health care system works, if there is not any "proof" of the pain, they don't usually want to do much to help.  So you have to be persistent with the doctors.  Call them and tell them again and again how you are suffering from day to day.  Eventually they will do something just to get you to leave them alone.  I have been there.  I feel for you Kimberly.
