Tuesday, December 23, 2008 Pam asks

Q: What can I do when I can't sleep because my knees hurt? I have one kidney and can't take some meds.

I had a kidney removed because of cancer.  I can't take anti-inflammartory drugs.  I'm on Rixtunan every 4-6 months.

sleep with your head elevated slighty. Also put a pillow under both knees and sleep on your back. This should relieve some of the pressure points and get a better nights sleep.

I found that the arthritis was calmed by the warmth of a electric blanket. I preheated about 5 minutes before going to bed so that he sheets were warmed. I kept the control on a low number and I slept like a baby for 4 or more hours straight. Laughing
