Senario: You are sleeping and all the sudden you get a pain that runs from your toes up the back of either leg. This happens to me. I have to get out of bed and try to walk, sometimes with assistance and sometimes without. I cannot work because I have to have somewhere to take nap. Once in awhile I do get a good night sleep. I can't sit for long periods and neither can I stand. What kind of job could someone have that requires what I need to function daily. I don't know anywhere that would let you take a three hour nap. As much as I hate to say this, smoking helps. I think it is the carbon monoxide inhaled that blocks the pain immediately. I don't smoke a whole cigarette either. RA keeps one from doing important task at home and that could cause depression which makes RA worse.
