According to the research I did, Sarcoidosis is a rare autoimmune system disease and as such, according to this website, "is similar to diseases like rheumatoid arthritis and lupus and how it behaves and how it's treated." That seems to me to indicate that the specialists responsible for treating this disease would be rheumatologists.
hi marilyn, i'm an RN and i took care of a lady with sarcoidosis and i was curious so i asked my rheumatologist about it. this is weird, but i swear this is what he told me. he said that it is rare, that white woman can be treated and it goes away, he said that black women get it mostly and they don't get rid of it and mostly just the symptoms are treated. they have a hard time with it. i asked him why and he said no body knows.
