Hello teacher.  Unfortunately, that is the nature of autoimmune disorders.  They are chronic.  You may go for a long period of time feeling well, and then they will flare.  A lot of people will  increase their prednisone, or add prednisone to their medication during a flare to help alleviate the symptoms.

Best Wishes,

V
