Hi,

I have had ankle, top of foot almost to the begining of my toes pain for quite some time.  I had  a rheumatoid factor test and sed rate which were normal.  The pain has gotten way worse, pain in the morning is really bad and very stiff, but it really last's all day and now I have pain in both knees also.  I got another rheumatoid factor and it is now elevated - 160 I think but SED rate is normal at 11.  I do not have pain and swelling or redness which I read is a big factor in RA.  I don't see my rheumatologis until Friday, my question is could this still be RA or not?

The short answer is yes, especially with the elevated rheumatoid factor.  It is common, especially in the early stages of RA.  I myself had pain and no swelling, which made it very hard for the doctors to diagnose.  But no worries yet.  A positive rheumatoid factor is indicative of many different things and I have included a link that tells a little more about that:

I hope that your rheumatologist appointment goes well, and pray that you do not have RA.  But please know that if you are diagnosed with RA we are all here for you whenever you need us and are only a click away!  I hope for relief for you soon!  Good luck and best wishes!
