Q: Anyone have any helpful suggestions or treatments for bunions?

I initially thought it was a bug bite because it itched so much, but after a few attempts to satiate the discomfort with Caladryl, my fiancé pointed out that this was most likely a bunion.

Your best bet is to make an appointment with your family doctor to get it checked out. It may be a bunion, but unless your fiancé is a doctor, it may be better to get that verified by a medical professional. They will also be able to give you some tips on how to manage. If you still need help after senior PCP, come back and give us a holler.

Hi Nicolynn,

I've had bunions for years that never really bothered me, except that I always had to buy wide width shoes. Then, about 3 years ago, the one on my left foot started getting larger & painful and it also itched. After a few months of discomfort, I went to a podiatrist. She diagnosed it as a RA nodule and I had to have it surgically removed. That's how I found out I had RA! Lab tests she ordered confirmed. I'm not suggesting this is the same for you, but it might be worth checking out with a podiatrist if the pain persists.

Good Luck, Kathy
