Q: Simponi

:) Hello everyone: Just a quick request...can anyone share any experience they have had with Simponi? I just switched to it from Enbrel as I was having allergic reactions to Enbrel.  It's the once-monthly newer bio drug...Thanks for your input! :)

I started Simponi about 3 months ago.  I have been doing fine on it.  It has worked for almost the entire month.  I start getting achy a few days before the shot is due.

I was on Enbrel for 6 years before it stopped working for me.  Humira did not work for me at all.

I switched to Simponi from Embrel as well a little over a year ago when it was brand new.  I was also having allergic reactions to Enbrel (Humira, too)  I have been on so many different meds over time - none longer than a month or two due to reactions of one kind or another.  Simponi is the first drug that has worked for me and I really do think it is much more painless injecting than any of the others, too.  I am about to take shot number 14 so I am hoping it continues to work for me.  I do take prednisone 10 mg, every day as well as Arava along with the Simponi.  I hope it works well for you, too.  I have no side effects and it lasts almost the entire month.  About the last week before the next injection, I start really feeling the fatigue etc., but nothing compared to how I feel without it.

Good luck... I'd love to know how you do!

Hi...i just had my first injection...it was very painless, although i now have a nice size bruise at the injection site...looks like this will just clear up, just in time for the 2nd one!!! No other reactions as of yet...We shall see what happens..hopefully this is the push that my body needs! Reply
