Becky- I have had RA since 2001.  I have been taking Enbrel and methotrexate for 5 years now and they are working very well.  When you first get RA it takes some time to get it under control.  Just hang in there!  How long have you been taking these meds and what is your metho dose?

I took methtrexate and Enbrel together and did pretty darn good for a few years.  I even was able to go to Cedar Point roller coaster park in Sandusky, OH ~ rode the rides and walked, walked, walked!  It was wonderful.. I still had some bad days, but the good days outweighed the bad by far.  Then my body built up a resistance or became immune or something... because I started to feel worse again.  Some people do wonderful on Enbrel.  I even knew someone who jogged every day while on Enbrel!  Can you imagine?!  I can hardly stand long enough to cook dinner from my family anymore.  The crazy more frusterating thing about this disease is that everyone's body is different and what may work for one person, may do nothing for another.  I've been taking Orencia for the last 2 months, hoping and praying that this might be the right med for me.

I have been taking metho and Enbrel for 6 years.  I am able to work 35 hours a week and honestly I do about anything I want.  I was undiagnosed for at least 7 years, quite possibly more, so the limitations I have is from damage incurred before this combo.

enbrel is the problem.I was on it for 2 years.Itold my doctor I was loosing my hair, and that it was making my legs hurt, also I was swollen. He said it wasn't from the enbrel.I called the 800 # they said in the study there was some hair lost.I asked if it would come back and was told they didn't have that information. So a year later I took myself off enbrel,my hair came back, but damage to the nerves in my legs is never going to change. The swelling in my body went down.I am going to try metho, never usedit.I hope I can find some help for the pain.
