participating in a 5k
thinking about participating in the jingle bell run in december. anyone ever done this? I'm 46, not really that active, have ra, obviously, but I really wan tto do this. I need some feedback from people other than my family. thanks
Why not do it? You have nothing to lose. So you'll be sore afterwards, you're probably sore now aren't you? What better time in your life than now to do this. I say do it, I would train for it,but do it. If you have it in you than you can. I'm not sure about your family but mine treats me as if I'm dying. I'm not even crippled' but you would think I'm in a wheel chair by the way they act some times. If I even look tired they wont let me do anything for myself. I'm tired because I have three kids and I'm tring to run a household by myself while my husband works 15 hrs a day. Any woman would be tired. So a one tired woman to another do it, let me know how it goes although I know it will go great.:)

thanks!! I really want to do it and if I wind up walking most of it well at least I did it. My kids are bigger, 23 and 26 so they are very encouraging. As is my husband. My Mom and sister think I am dying and should do nothing at all. They think I'm crazy when I exercise. But, they both have horrible fibromyalgia and I try to tell them maybe if they moved around a little they would feel better, its like talking to a wall. haha!! And let me just let you in on something, I work in an office full of women, all ages, sizes, married, single, you name it, its here, and guess what? Everyone is always tired!! It sucks, but its part of life, unless your wealthy and healthy, your tired!!
So thank you for your words of encouragement
I will try and remember to let you know how I do, maybe even some pictures. Not until december 12, so I do have time to get the motor running!!! hahaha!!!!
