Madeline,

I haven't tried infusions, but I have taken injections for Humira and now Enbrel for about 3 years.  I like the injections because it's quick and I can give myself the shot whenever my schedule permits that day.  I have a lot meetings, etc at work, so scheduling doctors appointments for infusions just isn't as convenient for me.  My doctor's office is also about 15 miles from my home.

But if you have a fear of needles or injecting yourself, then an infusion might be the way to go.  I have no information on whether one method has a better response rate than another.  Hopefully some folks who take infusions or have taken both can offer their experiences as well.

Good Luck

I have been taking humira injections for about 3 years now and it is the best thing I have ever done for myself.  I was really quite nervous at first, but it truly doesn not hurt and you get used to doing it in no time.  Humira is now available in the pen form which is even easier.  The only thing I would suggest with the pen is to freeze the injection site for about 30 seconds before doing the injection as this prevents bruising.  I have not tried the infusions as the humira works so well for me, but i would much rather do a quick injection at home every other week than to have to go to the dr.'s office for 4 hours every 6 weeks.  Good luck and I hope you get results as good as mine are with which ever treatment you choose.
