stomach pain in the right side seems to be worse from the methotrexate, anal pain blood in stool ?
pain in stomach and anal pain and now blood in stool, take methotrexate any realation to this?
Hi -
The stomach itself is on the middle to left side of the abdomen ... do you mean right-sided abdominal pain? Is it below the waist? That's probably in the intestines, and if it's low down & severe it could be related to appendicitis.
Anal pain and blood could be from hemorrhoids, but we should never assume that for sure. It's always best to check with your doctor when you have blood in your stool - it may not be anything but be safe and check. (Been there, done that, and yes, I've got the hemorrhoids and occasional bleeding!) Hemorrhoids usually bleed bright red, it's close by. If it's darker and more dried, it might be from further up the digestive system and needs to be checked out further. have you ever had a colonoscopy? (I've had two, about 5 years apart, because I had some benign polyps...nothing dangerous, but better to get them out!)
I don't have the answer overall to your question, but am trying to fine-tune the question.

Hello again - don't be afraid of the colonoscopy, itself. The worst thing is the prep - There are several different kinds of prep, and you may feel kinda empty & shakey or you may even feel cleaned out in a good way (or something in between - bloated until it all does come out). But -if you're like most people, depending on what they give you, you may not remember much at all, and it really doesn't take very long, normally. SOme doctors give you something in addition to the sedative to keep you from remembering... My first prep was actually for a sigmoidoscopy (not the whole colon, just the last part) I was given Fleet Phospho Soda to mix with water, and I actually felt kinda of good cleaned out. The first whole colonoscopy, I wasn't feeling good already (just before RA diagnosed) and I got the chills, probably from all the fluid going through and out of me - the second whole colonoscopy, he told me to take Miralax mixed with Gatorade - sounds weird, but it does work. My doctor seems to keep up with what's possible, trying to make it easy. The second time I only had 2 benign polyps, an improvement on the 6 the previous time!
Anyway, it is GOOD you are getting yourself checked through thoroughly - let me know how it turns out, if you feel like it ...I'll be thinking of you!

Thanks for the response, I am actually having a colonoscopy and endocsopy tomorrow at 11 am and am scared to death. I did not take my methotrexate last night it makes mystomach and head hurt for a coupel day so thought it best not to, haven't taken the right about now for about 3 weeks and can really tell. They gave me a scrip for osmoprep now colon stuff, it is 32 pills that you take doens't sound like fun and I sure hope they don't hurt my stomach.
Anyway thanks for the response,.
