Hi Linda   Oh you mad me feel sad because you cried while reading the post.  You can ask me anything you like.  I have been taken off of the Methotrexate for now.  I had Pleurisy really bad in July and doctors and I are not completely sure what caused it.  The fact that my rheumy took me off might mean that the Methotrexate could be responsible.     I had pleurisy really bad on my right lung from back to front bottom.  At first for months I thought it was a kidney issue.  I told my rheumy about it and he wanted me to have a x-ray done, more bloodwork, and urine.  I thought as soon as I have time I will go to the hospital and get all these tests done at the same time.  Within a week I was in the emergency.   Long story short, I was put on muscle relaxants, anti-inflammatories, and three different anti-biotics.  I had to sleep sitting up for weeks.  The pain was so intense.     It is eight months later and I still feel pain when I breath deep, yawn, cough or laugh.  I think after you have pleurisy it causes permanent scaring.  This pleurisy scared me so much.  I had never felt so much pain in my life.  I thought I was going to die in July.  The slightest breath was excruciating.   I have not taken Prednisone in three years now.  I refuse to be on it, unless I am having a lupus flare, or absolutely need it.  I know Prednisone caused me to gain about fifty extra pounds.  Kind of why I didn't want to go back on it again.  The thing is I am not losing the weight after stopping Prednisone three years ago, so what was causing the weight gain?  It had to be the Methotrexate.  None of my other meds would have caused weight gain.     Anyway I haven't been on Methotrexate since my rheumy took me off of it in July 2011.  I am not gaining anymore more weight, and I think I have lost a couple of pounds. ( I don't own a scale, and I don't want one in the house. LOL)  I don't do exercise, but when my pain medications are working or I am peaking on them, I move around as much as I can, to the point where I work up a good sweat.  Then again I am going through menopause right now too, so half the time I don't' know if I am having a hot flash or just plain sweating from vacuuming let's say.   So ask anything you would like Linda, and I hope was a little helpful.   Take care   KIM
