Some women experience an increase in symptoms (swelling in the joints, pain) during PMS, so it's possible it's related.  Do you have arthritis in your hips?  Do your other menstrual cycle symptoms vary, as well?  Is something else going on every three months that might explain it?  The longer you have your disease, the better you get at recognizing patterns of symptoms, so I tend to trust my gut on things like that.  Unless it is severe enough that you want it to be treated, you can ask yourself whether it is important that you doctor agrees with you.    However, if you haven't had a physical in a while, it might be a good idea to get one, just to rule out anything else.
