  First, don't panic.  Yes, I know that's hard not to, considering the rate of RA your family.  You need more information - the saying is right, information really is power. Go to your doctor, talk to him/her and get a referral to a rheumatologist who can assess whether you have RA and will be able to discuss treatment options with you.  Poke about on this site to get information and questions that you can bring to the appointment.  If you do have RA, it's a good idea to establish a good team with your specialist from the beginning.  Feel free to come back here to ask more questions and please let us know how things are going.
