Cimzia is a relatively new drug and although I've seen it couple of questions related to it, I haven't seen a lot of answers yet. However, I have been on Enbrel and know of many people who have been on Enbrel for a long time. For me, it was a lifesaver and easy to integrate in my life (the self injections are pretty easy and fast to do).

The choice of which biologic to go with is an individual one - medications work differently for different people.  If your doctor is not recommending any one in particular, I tend to recommend that people make a choice based on what makes most sense in their life. Some people like the idea of infusions, of going to a clinic or medical setting every six weeks to get the drug and for others, injections they can do themselves in their home work better.  The good news is that there are so many options now that if the one you choose first doesn't work well, there are all kinds of options.

Good luck!

I have been on Cimzia for about a month.  I was nervous about giving myself the injections, but after a couple of times, realized it was not a big deal.  So far, it has not been the miracle drug I was hoping for.  I was hoping it would replace the methotrexate and prednisone, but I seem to be in more pain when I reduce the doseage of those two drugs.  On the positive side, I have not suffered any side effects from Cimzia and am still hopeful that this drug will get me in remission. I would also like to hear from anyone else who has taken Cimzia and what their experiences have been.
