Hi, Bobbie,
I'm wondering if you have "trigger finger". Sometimes steriod shots help, but sometimes you need to have surgery to "snip" the tendon sheath. I have trigger finger in both pinkies. My ortho says it is a fast, small surgery, but I don't want to go off my RA meds for surgery, so I am waiting until my RA is better under control. You might want to see an orthopedic doc...???
Best Wishes,
V
Hi, Bobbie,
Actually, steroid shots is what they try first for trigger finger, but sometimes it just doesn't work. Mine are too far gone for shots to help. It took a long time for me to get a Dx so I have some joint damage, and that is what concerns me about you not taking any DMARD to slow down the joint destruction. Do you see an Rhematologist? Unfortunately, for me, RA meds are a necessity. I can't get out of bed without them, and bed gets boring!
Not to mention the pain factor. I have permanent knee, hip, and hand damage, Bobbi. I don't want that to happen to you. I really wish you would see an RD. How is your pain level? Any problems with other joints?
V
