I have a rheumatoid factor of 44 from my last blood test. Is this drastically high?

I am hypothyroid, had RAI therapy in March 2008.  Started feeling ill the following October and have now been sick for about a year with a general feeling of illness, slight tremors, high blood pressure, tightness in chest, eye pressure.  I do not tolerate thyroid drugs and became quite ill on synthetics until I switched to Armour and now Nature-throid in April 2009.  My new doctor just did a blood test and checked the Rheumatoid Factor but didn't really tell me what it means, just that it was elevated and I have to now see a Rheumatologist.

we have a terrific post on lab results and what they mean they should be able to give you the information you need.  as you will see in that post, having an elevated RA factory doesn't mean you automatically have RA - a diagnosis is based on a number of things, including physical exam, medical history, etc.

Good luck and please let us know how it goes?
