So I have had severe chest pain for almost 3weeks now and my rheumatologists believes it is pericarditis. I am on humira and currently at 60mg prednisone and still have alot of chest pain nothing seems to make it better and lying down is the worst. Anyone elses dealt with this or found anything that relieves the pain? I am wondering if it could be something else since the steroids havent really been helping.
Thanks!

Unfortunately, I don't know much about this condition, but I do seem to remember having seen a mention of it before in this site. Try asking the question again in a SharePost - they tend to get a lot more traffic than the individual questions in the Q&A section, so that may be more helpful.  You can find more information by googling the term (like e.g., this page) and you may also want to visit our heart site - they may have information in the reference area and if you ask the question in their Q&A section you may have better luck than here.

Ha your doctor suggested anypain medications?  Prednisone and humira hopefully will reduce the inflammation, but in the meantime - they are not specifically for pain.  I would check with your doctor to see what pain meds would not conflict with any other meds you are taking.  I don't think the pred and humira would be in conflict... try over the counter and if that doesn't work, maybe ask for something stronger, tylenol with codeine or something like that.

Hope you get some help soon!
