Hi, Sandie,
It is dificult to find health insurance coverage in the US if you already have a diagnosis of RA. That being said, if you have been covered by insurance through your own or your partner's employment and have lost your job but continued insurance through COBRA or another plan, you cannot be denied coverage based on a pre-existing condition. The thing here seems to be continous coverage.
I m assuming you have been dx with RA. Do you have any health insurance at all? Sometimes you can buy an insurance plan through an independent agent, but those usually have high deductibles. They pay for the "big bills" like hospitalization and treatment after a big deductible is met.
Patients in the US are covered by Medicare after they are on disability for a while. States have varying options available for those in need of insurance.
Please tell us a little more about your situation, and we will try to help.
