Hi flutterby,

I can't speak to a B12 deficiency, but I can talk about Vit D deficiency. The first bloodwork my second Rheumatologist took showed me deeply Vitamin D deficient. She put me on this monster Vit D pill- it was 50,000mgs in one horse pill. After I took it, even with food, it made me SO sick to my stomach! I stopped taking it.

I've had bloodwork taken since then, by two different docs, but neither mentioned anything about Vit D deficiency. I just try and drink a lot of milk and eat yogurt!

vitamin D deficiency and the benefits of taking big doses of vitamin D for RA is a relatively new development. As well, vitamin D appears to play a role in pain management .
