If you are having pain in your lower back, then you more than likely have inflammation as well.  If you have inflammation in your lower back, then more than likely the pain that moves to the front is nerve pain.  What I would recommend is that you talk openly and honestly with your primary doctor and explain to him what has been going on.  You should tell him how long you have been having the pain, where the pain is located, and how it affects you.  Good luck and best wishes!
