Q: husband has a dark patch on his back.

My husband developed a dark patch on back about a year ago. It looks like either dirt or a bruise but it is not. The patch looks like it has gotten bigger. It is not raised above the skin. Could you tell me what it could be?

I would recommend seeing a dermatologist.  It could be something simple to treat and unthreatening, but you should rule out other more serious skin conditions as well.

Hi

I have the same thing..The night I tried to research it you just posted your blog..I have had mine for about 6 months (it has gotten bigger over that period) and it looks just like dirt or a bruise and it does not bother me but is starting to make me nervous..I am calling a dermatologist and I will let you know if I find anything out and if you could do the same that would be great..I haven't found anybody with the same exact syptoms..Thanks

I have the same problem, a dark path on my back above my waist. I had it for years and it never bothered me. But just today i happen to look at it in the mirror and it seems like it has gotten bigger. It is not raised above the skin but the skin looks thinner around that area and it scared me. If you happen to see a dermatologist and find out anything please let me know.
