Q: Poison Oak Occurring after Prednisone

Got a nasty case of poison oak after Thanksgiving that was just getting worse after 4 weeks. Went to Dr. got a 9 day (tapered) dose of Prednisone plus a topical cream. Completed the Prednisone entirely. Everything disappeared and I felt like I was in heaven! Now...the poison oak is back. Exact same spot and creeping up my leg, where it all started originally. What to do?? Wait it out? Go to Dr. again? I am continuing with the topical cream that I still have...but the rash is popping up all over my leg.

You need to call your doctor again, Carmen. Sometimes it takes more than one treatment of prednisone to get rid of poison oak or poison ivy.  I have had this happen in the past.  Please call and/or see your doctor.
