I am looking for advice on Embrel? I have tried Humira and Rituxan with reactions to both.

I was diagnosed in 2007 with RA.  I have been taking Methotrexate regularly with some positive effects.  I have tried various other treatments along with the Mtrex8.  I seem to have allergic reactions to a lot of the drugs.  Embrel seems to be the path my rheumy wants to take.

I was in Enbrel for two years and it worked very well for me for quite a while. As far as I remember, Enbrel based in mouse cells and Humira in cloned human cells, so if you had an allergic reaction to Humira, there's a good chance that you will be able to tolerate Enbrel - it's also a biologic medication, but significantly different in composition. For me, Humira worked better than Enbrel in the long run - different meds work for different people.  One of the frustrating parts of living with this disease is that finding a medication that works for your RA can be a process of trial and error. Hopefully, Enbrel will work well for you.
