Brad is Trying to learn all I can about these diseases.
Looking for answers and insights.

I have had foot and hand pain forever, but last year the pain went...

04/24/09

I know the possible side effects. I am still taking 40mg of prednisone as well. In 5 weeks IF the Avara kicks in I will wean off the pred and go on Humira. Dr said Avara was a better bet for me than Methotrexate as he doesn't want to push my liver to hard at the moment.

Just wondering if anyone has any info on it. It's one thing to listen to the dr read it off his laptop screen, I prefer to hear it from people that are taking it!

Thanks for any  info.

Brad

I was diagnosed 4 years age

Saturday, April 25, 2009

I've been taking arava for about 4 months now.  The first two months it decreased my appatite and made me horribly gasy.  If you can deal with not eating a lot and  losing some weight its a great drug.  However it took 3 months  for it to work but I have never felt this great.  For years I took meth and no matter what my feet always hurt there was never any relief but for about a month they have not hurt at all.  I'm not saying that I have absolutely no pain anywhere, but it certainly isn't like it used to be, I have aches and pains in the morning that gradually go away as the day wears on.  But I also take it with enbrel twice a week.  I really  hope that you have the same success that I have had.
