You need to us a mosquito repellant with deet in it. If you are on immune suppressing drugs, this is very important. You can always check with your doctor, as we are not doctors here. I have a friend with RA who was warned about West Nile by her RD recently. He told her to make sure to use repellant.
Best Wishes,

Hi, Leslie!
Yes, we do need to be careful. Everyone does, but the young, elderly and immune suppressed are really at risk. My friend's RD is in Dallas and he has received weekly alerts...from the CDC, I believe...to inform his patients of the danger of West Nile Virus to them. So.........we will all smell like Deet for awhile!

Woa! I hadn't even thought of this! (Note to self, add this to list of things to worry about when on immunosuppressive drugs!) But the mosquitos are bad this year and west nile is endemic in almost every state here in the states now. Saw a report on TV just the other night about how wide spread it is. I had always just considered them an annoyance but guess we had better get that repellant out and check our yards to make sure we don't have any standing water around where they can breed! I have a friend who is immunosuppressed for other reasons and since you two have brought this up, I think I will call and remind her to always wear repellant!
