Q: Anyone try Meloxicam (Mobic) for pain and swelling? Results?

I had a rheumy appt. last week and she says she is questioning whether I have RA now or if it could be something else. Anyway, she took me off the diclofenac and the sulfasalazine I was taking and now only has me taking hydrochloroquine (plaquenil) and added meloxicam (mobic). She said we're gonna see if I get worse.

I took for quite some time and it did work well, didn't bother my stomach either.  But I did have to take 15 mg a day to get results.

I take Mobic for arthritis in my facet joint - back.  It takes the "edge" off the pain.  I have chronic thum pain currently arthritis plus something else, not sure what but the Mobic doesn't seem to give that area nay assistance.

I am a new RA patient (since early May) and am on same drugs as you. Started taking Pacquenil 200 mg on May 29th and started taking Meloxicam 15 mg June 18th.  I am 64 years old and was otherwise was in good health (until....). My symptoms are easing especially in my neck (also do Yoga and have access to swim pool).  My wrists are my BIG problem and yet they are better than at first.  Haven't been on these drugs that long and am still hoping for even better results.  Tried 3 sessions of Acupncture on neck and wrists but the results weren't good enough (darn)!  If you're not already taking Gloucousamine consider it.  Everyone I talk to swears by it even for RA patients like us.  It takes about 3 months for it to really kick in but I "pray" a lot.  I sleep well enough considering everything but I am retired and fortunate to be able to mainly take care of my health.  These drugs do make me tired though but it could also just be this crummy disease we have.  Anyway I"m not giving up without a fight!!!
