Kineret SubQ Uses

This medication is used to treat rheumatoid arthritis that has not improved with other drugs (disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs-DMARDs). Anakinra slows the worsening of rheumatoid arthritis by preventing a certain protein (interleukin-1) from causing more damage. This effect may reduce pain, swelling, and tenderness in your joints, allowing you to do your normal activities.

How To Use Kineret SubQ

Read the Patient Information Leaflet provided by your pharmacist before you start using anakinra and each time you get a refill. Learn how to prepare and inject this medication. If you have any questions, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

This medication is injected under the skin, usually once daily or as directed by your doctor.

Before using, check the single-use pre-filled glass syringe for any particles or color changes. Use the medication only if it is clear and colorless/white. Do not shake the syringe. Let the syringe warm to room temperature for 60 to 90 minutes before injecting the medicine.

Before injecting each dose, clean the injection site with rubbing alcohol. It is important to change the location of the injection site daily to avoid problem areas under the skin. Learn how to use and discard needles and medical supplies safely. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for details.

Dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment.

Use this medication regularly to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, use it at the same time each day.

Tell your doctor if your condition does not improve or if it worsens after 4 weeks.
